Walsall West Division
The geographical area of Walsall is divided into three Girlguiding divisions: Walsall North, Walsall West, and Walsall East. Walsall West covers the areas of Walsall, Beechdale and Willenhall.
Walsall is an industrial town in the West Midlands. It is located 8 miles north-west of the City of Birmingham and 6 miles east of the City of Wolverhampton. The area is home to Walsall’s football club, the Saddlers, Walsall Cricket Club, Walsall’s rugby union team.
Beechdale used to be home to Noddy Holder, the lead singer of slade, while he was growing up after moving there as a child. His parents were among the estate’s original residents in the 1950s.
Dorothy Pattison, better known as Sister Dora (1832-1878) was a heroic nurse and Anglican nun, often referred to as Walsall’s own Florence Nightingale in her compassionate care for townsfolk. Her statue was the first in the UK for a non-royal female and may have been the world’s first statue for a nurse.
As of 7th April 2018 Walsall West Division had:
