Himley Division

The Girlguiding division of Himley covers the geographical areas of Brierley Hill, Kingswinford and Wordsley. It takes its name from a small village 4 miles west of Dudley and 5 miles south-west of Wolverhampton.

It is most notable for being the location of Himley Hall, the former home of the Earls of Dudley. It is also home to Kingswinford Rugby Club. One of the largest factories in the area was the Round Oak Steelworks, which was closed down and developed in the 1980s to become the Waterfront part of the Merry Hill Shopping Centre. It is said that Merry Hill had one of the first drive-thru McDonald’s in the UK.

As of 7th April 2018 Himley Division had:

158 Volunteers | 557 Girls | 41 Units

It is split into four districts:

Brierley Hill | Dawley Brook | Kingswinford | Wordsley
